Building your pitch

Think back to the last time you had to introduce yourself and say a few words about who you are. How did it go? Was it easy? Was it hard? Were you satisfied with what you said?

People are ever-changing and what mattered to us 5 years ago might not be as important today. Priorities, interests, passions, hobbies… they change over time. But our core values, behaviors and beliefs don’t. Or at least, they don’t change dramatically.

In this session we’ll embark on a journey of self-discovery, introspection, and by the end we will each have an elevator-pitch that reveals, in a nutshell, who we (currently) are.

When?

April 5th, from 13:30 to 15:00.

What we’ll talk about:

  1. Beliefs, core values & behaviors;
  2. Passions, hobbies & interests;
  3. Priorities – personal & work related;
  4. Tools for growth – Motivation Discovery, Goal Mapping, Decision Framework, Roadmap;
  5. Elevator-pitch – what it is, how to use it.

How?

Interactive presentation, personality test, practical exercises.

Practice Interviews

Learning how to present yourself, what to look for and how to build a career plan is great and all… but practice makes it perfect. So, we’ve reached out to professional recruiters to offer you a 1-on-1 practice interview.

Unlike the training sessions, this is an optional activity.

When?

April 5th, after the closing ceremony. Roughly start at 15:30.

How?

You’ll each be given a script to study. Script will contain name of the employer, some background as to what the company does and a list of pre-defined roles you’re aiming for. You can choose any role you want, depending on your career interests.

After the closing ceremony, we will hold multiple rounds of interviews. Those of you that will participate in round 1 will have roughly 10 minutes to prepare for your interviews. We encourage you to look over everything you’ve talked about and learnt during the 6 sessions and prepare yourselves.

We also encourage you to give yourselves the opportunity to speak freely and not get overwhelmed. This is, after all, a practice interview, designed to help you present yourself in your best version. After the interview, you’ll receive feedback from your interviewer and suggestions on what to improve for the future.
